Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She's co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well being the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an author, philanthropist, television host, and owner of The Huffington Post. Born in Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England with her family when she was age 16. At Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. She was the first student non-UK to become the president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. She was a syndicated conservative writer following the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a year after, she created an online platform for voice which offered critiques of political scenarios. Her fame and popularity helped by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to publish their thoughts on politics news and culture. Arianna was famous when she decided to run as an Independent candidate for the California Recall election to succeed former Governor Davis. Additionally she also led the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. Forbes listed her 12th in its list for the Most Popular Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post on their list of the top 100 in 2010. AOL Inc. appointed her President of their media company in 2011, after they bought The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included the other AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter of Konstantinos the manager's advisor as well as a journalist. Although she was a close friend to her father, it was her relationship with her mother which shaped her life. She was a leader from the beginning. When she was sixteen, she left America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. In her time at college, she joined the debating Society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign president and was also the third female president. In 1972, she graduated with the degree of Master's in Economics. After the graduation ceremony, she was an editor of the critic's column and a television host. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
