April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball star American is part of a select category of females who have been awarded medals at more than one Olympics. Alix-Klineman will compete with Ross at Tokyo to win her third gold in the next couple of days. Ross aims to earn the Olympic first gold medal, however, she also hopes to win more. It could be the last opportunity she gets as she is 39 years old. But she's convinced that the top awards are in reach. Ross declared on NBC Boston: "If we perform our best and playing well I believe we can be able to win gold." This is also an issue of luck. Ross was born in Costa Mesa, California in 1982. Her parents and her sister resided in the area. Apart from competing in various sport, she also attended Newport Harbor High School. She played basketball and ran track, in addition to her indoor volleyball achievements as a pre-collegiate athlete. She was definitely superior to the rest in this latter game. Based on her bio, she played an outside blocker as well as a middle volleyball player during her high-school career. Her achievements were rewarded when she was named 1999 Gatorade's Circle Of Champions National Player of the Year. In 2000, she was named Orange County Athlete of the Yr for volleyball. Ross and Klineman formed their relationship in 2017 however, Ross has been a beach player for years prior to. In fact, she's been able to win multiple events, one of which was with a legendary volleyball player. The pair teamed along with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and also was Klineman's coach. Along with Kessy, Ross won an Olympic Title in 2009, while racing internationally. The pair eventually picked up an Olympic silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor took home gold ahead of them. Ross Jennings was Walsh Jennings partner in fate after Maytreanor's retirement. The pair won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross started her college career with the USC Trojans after her high school days. It was a long time before Ross went to the beach, and then became a pro. The time she spent at USC was a memorable one. When she was a freshman at the school in 2000 she earned Pac-10 as well as NCAA All-American Freshman of Year awards and was also an All-American. The Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a heartbreaking personal loss during her sophomore year, but she still repeated her place as an All-American. In the two years she played for the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them achieve consecutive championships. The individual accomplishments of her have established her as a volleyball legend. Ross was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the nation's best female collegiate player. Ross studied at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, did not have the opportunity to see Ross' daughter blossom into a beach volleyball superstar. Ross lost her mom to cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. Ross is still awed by her mother who died. Margie is an inspiration on and off of the beach.
