Amy Smart is an American former actress and model. Growing up and being raised in California USA she started her modeling career in Italy. Her first acting role was in the 1996 TV movie Her Costly Affair. Following a long and difficult battle, she landed a role as 'Starship Troopers' in her role in Starship Troopers. This was not easy for Amy as she had change from modeling to the acting profession. Models aren't thought of as great actors so they tend to play smaller, less important roles. Amy did her best to get noticed and was eventually offered larger roles starting with The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. In 2005, she was cast on the lead role in The romantic comedic film Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Amy received the recognition she had been chasing more than a decade. Amy was later a star in major films including the Crank Series opposite Jason Statham, and Shameless.
